ENT 3504 Leadership Skills for Entrepreneurs
In this course, the students will identify who they are as an individual, leader and entrepreneur. The course will give the students a theoretical and practical overview of the field of entrepreneurial leadership through theoretical tools, exercises in class and through practical work with their own company.
In the course, the students will reflect on their own path choices and further direction for themselves and the company. There is a requirement to set and work towards specific goals. We go deeper into topics such as motivation, self-leadership, communication, and collaboration.
Throughout the semester, the students will optimize the diverse perspectives and skills at their disposal and work collaboratively to accomplish organizations goals in a changing environment through active learning and reflection.
Throughout the course, students will:
- Learn about motivation, values and personality
- Gain knowledge about self-leadership and emotions
- Learn about communication, active listening and different coaching methodologies
- Acquire knowledge about leadership, teamwork and collaboration
After completing the course, students should:
- Have insight into their own personality, values and ability to lead themselves
- Be able to lead and guide teams and start-ups according to given plans and towards specific goals
- Be able to collaborate and create motivation in teams, have dialogue internally in groups and externally with external parties
- Develop own intellect by presenting and analyzing academic knowledge and themselves
Students will develop an understanding of their own values and motivation through the development of their own company and coaching of other entrepreneurs. They should be able to reflect on their own behavior, be aware of their own and others' feelings, and be able to lead themselves. The students will gain insight into the complexity of leadership and collaborate in the teams, and thus will be able to make an independent choice for further direction as entrepreneurs.

The course is completed with 45 hours of lectures and group discussions:
- Kick-off: Joint gathering
- Creative workshops
- Thematic lectures
- Midway joint gathering
- Group meetings
- Closing joint meeting with preparation of report and "TED-TALK"
The course will use a combination of lectures, group discussions and other student activities. The teacher will facilitate for a high level of interactivity, through group work and reflection. Through exchanges between lectures, discussions, and practical experiences, the students will get a vivid picture regarding the process of entrepreneurial leadership.

The last part of the oral exam is a conversation based on self-reflection about the syllabus in the subject and further direction with your own company.
