Introduction

This course builds upon Strategy I and Organizational Theory and HRM, and is about strategic development and implementation. The course explores leadership, change processes, and organization as important components of the strategy process.

Learning outcomes - Knowledge

During the course students shall:

  • Develop an understanding of strategy development and implementation, as well as strategic organizing.
  • Develop strategy process capabilities through analysis and discussion of case material and examples from different organizations.
Learning outcomes - Skills

After the course students shall:

  • Understand strategic processes and strategic organizing
  • Be able to evaluate different processes for strategy development and implementation and be able to consider strategic problems at various levels
General Competence

Students will be able to critically reflect upon and understand strategic problems and processes, including concepts and theories related to organizational learning, development of operational and dynamic capabilities, organizational adaptation to changing environments, strategy practice, and strategic organizing. The lecture on strategy process will include ethical concerns. The discussion of organizing will include societal and organizational sustainability.
