Candidate Profile

The MSc in Business is a two-year full time graduate programme taught entirely in English. It is for students who wish to specialize in one subject area – a major - while at the same time gaining a broad business education. Students self-select a major and combine this with core courses and electives.  We offer students the opportunity to undertake a wide range of options within the MSc in Business programme, including internship, summer school, and exchange. We place emphasis on offering research-driven teaching and a diverse, intercultural and international learning environment. 

Upon completion of the MSc in Business, a candidate should have the following learning outcomes:

Learning outcome - Knowledge

The candidate should have acquired:

  • Advanced theoretical understanding within core areas of business administration.
  • Comprehensive theoretical appreciation of analytical tools.
  • Specialized knowledge within their chosen major, incorporating appreciation of the development and state-of-the-art of core theories, concepts, frameworks and tools relevant to the major subject area. 
  • Ability to apply advanced academic knowledge critically in actual and experiential business and societal settings.
Learning outcome - Skills

A candidate should be able to:

  • Apply theories and methods from business disciplines to analyse and solve real life problems in business and society.
  • Use quantitative methods in the analysis of business relevant topics.
  • Utilise relevant digital tools when applying methods to real-life problems.
  • Search for and process large amounts of information in a critical way.
  • Use critical thinking about the effects of organizations’ choices on society, particularly with respect to sustainability.
  • Design, plan and conduct an independent research project under supervision and in accordance with the applicable norms for research ethics.
Learning outcome - General Competence

A candidate is:

  • Able to use his/her new knowledge and skills in businesses and organizations across all sectors of the economy.
  • Aware of the ‘grand challenges’ at a global societal level, such as digitalisation and sustainability, and their impact on how businesses and organisations operate.
  • Capable of critical thinking, especially when applied to complex problems.
  • Able to manage and evaluate large amounts of information in a critical fashion.
  • Capable to identify ethical and moral dilemmas in modern business life and take appropriate actions.
  • Able to communicate effectively about complex issues and their potential solutions in spoken and written English.
