Introduction

This is a practically oriented course where students get practice in conducting an event. Festivals and events are important arenas for creative sustenment. In this course, students help with planning and conducting an event. During the course, students will plan, carry out and evaluate the event. Students will be recruited to groups with specific responsibility for different parts of the event.

Learning outcomes - Knowledge

During the course, the students will acquire knowledge about the steps from an event idea, to planning, implementation and evaluation of the event. The students will acquire knowledge about organizational, economic and marketing aspects of event management.

Learning outcomes - Skills

During the course, students will develop skills to plan and carry out an event. They will also choose a specialization where they will acquire skills in groups.

General Competence

During the course, the students will develop an understanding of the importance of sustainability in events. They will develop their ability to understand their role in larger and smaller groups. In addition, they will develop a reflective relationship with various aspects of cooperation both internally within student groups and towards the business sector.

Teaching and learning activities

The course consists of lectures, guest lectures and group work. This is a practically oriented course where the students will plan, carry out and evaluate an event. The students work in groups with specific responsibility for different parts of the event.
