JOU 3636 Internship Responsible for the course Jo Bech-Karlsen Department Department of Communication - Culture and Languages Term According to study plan ECTS Credits 15 Language of instruction Norwegian Introduction The Internship includes eight weeks of editorial trainee service in Norwegian media. It can be performed in paper media, broadcasting or digital media.
Reflection The students should learn good work ethics. In this the editorial supervisor has an important role, in addition to professional response from editors and colleges. Prerequisites To get Internship, the students must have completed all JOU courses in second year. Compulsory reading Other: Studentene skal selv velge pensum på ca 600 sider. Valg av pensum skal begrunnes i prosjektoppgaven. Recommended reading Course outline The subjects can vary in different media, but normally it will contain one or more of these subjects:
Computer-based tools The students use the tools available in the editorial office. Learning process and workload The students work normal hours, that is 300 hours during eight weeks. They must be prepared to work some in the weekends. They participate in editorial meetings and follow instructions from the editors. In June there will be arranged an Internship seminary as well as halfway in the Internship. The students shall write a short Internship report following a special instruction. This report will make the foundation for the final Project paper. Recommended use of hours:
Examination The course concludes with a project paper based on the practice report. The project paper will be distributed at practice seminar in June and will be published simultaneously on It's Learning. The project paper must be solved individually and the deadline is the end of the semester. Examination code(s) JOU 36361 Project paper - counts 100% to obtain final grade in the course JOU 3636 Internship, 15 credits. Examination support materials All support materials allowed. Re-sit examination This course is lectured for the last time autumn 2012. Re-sit examiniation will be offered spring 2013 and autumn 2013. Additional information |
