Introduction

After having completed the course, the students shall have the skills to sell and give advises about fire and combined Insurance, liability insurance, motor insurance and cargo insurance for smaller and medium sized enterprises.

Learning outcomes - Knowledge

The students shall obtain knowledge about how to explain the liability for damages and the liability insurance conditions, to know the insurance conditions and pricing of property insurance and to know cargo insurance conditions and terms of delivery.

The students shall have developed the skills to give advises to the customers and to deal with contracts concerning liability insurance, property insurance, motor insurance and cargo insurance to smaller and medium sized enterprises

Learning Outcome - Reflection

During the course, the students should have acquired a conscious attitude to the fact that their professional choices and advices first and foremost are of importance for other people than themselves.

Comprehensive business Insurance
Insurance contracts Act, The Insurance Contract, Insurance Conditions, tariffs and claims handling

Liability Insurance
Liability for damages, Insurance Conditions, Tariffs and Risk Assessment

Motor Insurance
Tariffs, Insurance conditions, claims handling

Cargo insurance
Product knowledge, terms of delivery, carrier’s liability, Insurance conditions, tariffs, Insurance Policy, general average

Learning process and requirements to students

Part-time organized as E-Learning based on self-tuition and four send-ins (mandatory).
Intensive foru-day seminars are organized. Participation is mandatory.

Higher Education Entrance Qualification

Required prerequisite knowledge

The student needs basic knowledge of the Norwegian Insurance Industry. The cours Introduction to Insurance should have been completed. Experience from work in the Insurance Industry is an important source of understanding, as well.
