Introduction

The course is an introduction to the most important business law topics, law for real estate agents and real estate in practice.

The financial consequences of a lack in legal knowledge, for example in contract law or tort law, can be fatal. The course focuses primarily on the real estate professional and is thus specially adapted to the real estate study.

Learning outcomes - Knowledge

During the course, students will acquire basic knowledge of the legal framework and construction technology that is particularly important for practitioners of the real estate profession.

Learning outcomes - Skills

The students must be able to account for the central legal and liability issues in real estate activities and be able to solve basic specific tasks in connection with a real estate transaction. They must be able to identify legal issues and be able to carry out an analysis of a problem complex rooted in legal sources.

General Competence

Students must be familiar with the "grey area" that lies outside the clearly defined rules and the ethical principles established by legal standards in the legislation, and have a conscious attitude to how this can be handled in practice.

Teaching and learning activities

The course is conducted with teaching in 40 course hours, where 28 hours are ordinary lectures and 12 hours are devoted to case and problem solving.

Students will work with small assignments related to each topic and these are reviewed in plenary. This form of teaching presupposes that the students have familiarized themselves with the syllabus material and the legal rules for the relevant subject before each lecture. It is assumed that the support materials and especially the collection of laws are brought to the lectures, and that the students become familiar with them through the study of the various subjects. In the main, only some key issues in the syllabus will be addressed and elaborated on in the lectures. Parts of the syllabus must be acquired on your own (self-study). The distribution of the various topics will be stated in a lecture plan.

Eiendomsverdi.no and Lovdata.no will be used in this course.

Students will have the opportunity to submit a written work for correction and feedback.
