Introduction

This course provides practical competencies and skills in key Human Resource (HR) and leadership-related areas in the workplace.

A sustainable and health-promoting work environment is an essential topic within HR and leadership. In a work environment characterized by rapid changes and transformations, the further development of human resources is crucial and will often be the organization's most significant competitive advantage.

In this course, we explore how an organization, both through strategic Human Resource Management (HRM) and through leadership and employee roles, can practically and concretely implement good research-based practices to facilitate the sustainable management of human resources within the organization. We explore how to perform effective and fair processes for attracting employees (employer branding), recruitment, facilitating performance, work-related health and well-being, as well as skills, leadership, and career development. The course content is based on central theories and research-based knowledge in the field of HR and leadership. A goal of the course is for students to enhance their employability by developing their ability to reflect and perform essential HR skills, including collaboration, problem-solving, and presenting current HR-related issues and solutions. Course participants will have the opportunity to acquire research-based practical competencies, skills, and understanding in HR and leadership topics.
