BIK 2926 Effective Teams - Influence Through Leadership
BIK 2926 Effective Teams - Influence Through Leadership
Team as a way of working is constantly increasing, here in Norway as well as in international organizations. The challenges and tasks faced by organizations are more complex and require a higher degree of interaction than before. However, the trend of teamwork may have a downside: collaboration may generate loss as well as gains, and for some teams the loss is greater than the gain. This can be due to different things: goal ambiguity, meetings that create dissatisfaction and boredom, trust may turn into mistrust and conflict, and belonging and pride in the team disappears as a consequence of unwanted group dynamics. Then, the cooperation is not sustainable. To succeed with teams, we need knowledge about teams. We need to know which processes increase performance, create teams that are based on interaction, everyone’s well-being and psychological safety. In lectures, discussions, team processes and training, the course aims to provide precisely this competence.
