Introduction

"Our employees are our greatest asset "is a statement often encountered. What does it mean, and how is this organised to ensure visibility in organisations? The course will provide an overview of HR management and HR roles and responsibilities in today's workplace. This includes all levels of leadership and management. Further, criteria for a sound working environment, personnel policies, recruitment, motivation, learning and training, as well as attitudes will be key topics. The course also includes laws, agreements, social conditions and labour law.

Learning outcomes - Knowledge

After completed course student shall:

  • Have acquired knowledge of important principles and tasks of modern personnel management
  • Have acquired knowledge of which HR tasks that positively relates to organizational efficiency, as well as how to plan, design and implement such HR activities
  • Possess knowledge of relevant laws, agreements and social conditions that affect the management and leadership

After the course students shall:

  • Be more aware of one’s role and behavior as a personnel manager and/or HR-leader, as well as how HR leadership at its best can influence organizational results
  • Be able to use important principles and tools from the course in a job of personnel management or -leadership

Teaching and learning activities

The course has 28 "regular" teaching hours. in addition there are webinars, video lectures, tutorials, preparations for the lectures, problem solving and the use of other online resources.

In BI's continuing education at BI Executive, there is a mutual requirement for the student and course coordinator/lecturer/facilitator to involve student's experiences in planning and implementing the courses, modules and programs. This means that the student has the right and the duty to get involved with their own knowledge and relevant experience.
