This course is aimed at school and kindergarten managers. The course aims to improve educational leaders' competence in planning, implementing and evaluating change and development work. Educational institutions' environment is becoming more changeable and demanding, and it is challenging for managers to meet this in a good way. This requires a manager who is able to critically reflect on one’s own and others' role in improvement work and who can involve and engage employees in ways that look after them while prioritizing children’s learning. It is crucial that the manager is able to involve and create good interaction processes with all the various partners in the school and kindergarten.
The aim of this leadership education is to give the individual leader up-to-date knowledge and skills in the role of change leader in schools and kindergartens.

Session 1: Identify development and change needs
Goal:
- To see the school's and nursery school's social responsibility in light of the need for change and development as well as to become familiar with thinking and skills related to critical reflection and involving change management.

Session 2: Planning and leading development and change work
Goal:
- To learn about the involvement and commitment of employees in the development work
- To be able to build a culture for change and development
- To be able to analyze the business's needs for development

Session 3: Being a change leader
Goal:
- Understand your own role in change and development work

Session 4: Leading community
Goal:
- To increase knowledge and skills in creating good structures and processes for interaction

Session 5: Evaluating development and change work
Goal:
- To increase knowledge and skills related to the evaluation of change work
Theme:
- Data use (information about learning or behavior change)
- Implementation determinants and outcomes
In all BI Executive courses and programs, there is a mutual requirement for the student and the course responsible regarding the involvement of the student's experience in the planning and implementation of courses, modules and programmes. This means that the student has the right and duty to get involved with their own knowledge and practice relevance, through the active sharing of their relevant experience and knowledge.
Bachelor degree, corresponding to 180 credits from an accredited university, university college or similar educational institution. The applicant must be at least 25 years of age and at least four years of work experience. For applicants who have already completed a master’s degree, three years of work experience are required.
