KLS 2603 Bachelor thesis in Arts and Management - RE-SIT EXAMINATION Responsible for the course Anne-Britt Gran Department Department of Communication - Culture and Languages Term According to study plan ECTS Credits 15 Language of instruction Norwegian Introduction In the course of Bachelor thesis in Arts and Management all students are required to write a thesis. The thesis will give the students the possibility to go in depth in a specific theme and an arts or cultural field. Objective The objective of the work and course is to train the students in planning and carry out an independent research project within a certain time limit. The result is to be presented as a written thesis. The students will have to show that they are able to analyse and research a relevant topic within the art- and cultural field with relevant theory and empirical data. The bachelor thesis must meet scientific criteria regarding form and content. Prerequisites Students need to have a basic knowledge of research methods in the social science. Allyn & Bacon. 287 sider Recommended reading Course outline Students are responsible for finding research problems that are suitable for their thesis. Computer-based tools There will be possible to get special training in database search at the library. Course structure The students need to fill out a thesis registration form indicating relevant topics and problem areas, which here means the selection of one or more cultural fields and specific issue. A thesis adviser is then appointed. The course consists of an obligatory session for all the thesis students giving an insight in relevant approaches regarding methods and data collection. This joint obligatory session consists of until 20 hours. The thesis advisor will develop the guiding process based on what is most relevant for the groups' themes. Guiding will here both consist of common seminars with oral presentations by the groups and individual group guiding. Examination The preliminary project includes a written proposal and an oral presentation. The preliminary project is obligatory. Students that do not write a proposal and attend the seminars must orally defend their thesis. The thesis should be around 40 pages. Examination code(s) KLS 26031 Bachelor thesis in Arts and Management. The bachelor thesis accounts for 100% to achieve the grade, 15 ECTS credits. Examination support materials All aids are permitted. Re-sit examination This course was lectured for the last time spring 2011.A re-sit exam will be offered every term from autumn 2011 even spring 2013. Additional information |
