MAN 5125 Kulturforståelse og etikk i sikkerhetsledelse
This is the 15th Master of Management course on cultural understanding and ethics in security management, developed for the Armed Forces, Police and Civil Society organizations. It forms part of 5 in a 90 credits Executive Master of Management study specializing in Security and Cultural Understanding.
The program is designed to be relevant both from
the management perspective and the security perspective in international and national operations. Central to this programme is the complexity of the cultural context particularly encounters in multinational operations as well as national One must understand local context and culture and interact with local people on their premises. Local context is often one or more weak states characterized by crisis and conflict with many interest groups and a great degree of complexity. Therefore, we will draw in case-based and "action-learning".
Our approach to cultural understanding is to put these experiences in a larger perspective, theoretical framework and empirical framework to promote learning and increase competence. The purpose is to enable participants to understand their own role in a larger context and make their own and good decisions on an independent basis. Ethics, morality and understanding of role/assignments are important.

9 teaching days divided into 3 modules
Students must calculate at least the time spent that is the usual normation for 15 credits (400 hours). The teaching is over three collections of three days of eight hours, a total of 75 hours. In addition, at least one reading day must be expected a week, and some extra time while working on the program
In programmes where there is no compulsory attendance, it is the student's responsibility to obtain information given at lectures but which does not appear on the program's website/ It's learning or other course materials
The guidance offer will be somewhat different on the various Executive Master of Management Program. Personal guidance and guidance will be provided during lectures. In general, students can expect advisory guidance, not evaluative guidance.
In all BI Executive courses and programs, there is a mutual requirement for the student and the course responsible regarding the involvement of the student's experience in the planning and implementation of courses, modules and programmes. This means that the student has the right and duty to get involved with their own knowledge and practice relevance, through the active sharing of their relevant experience and knowledge.

Du har fire års yrkeserfaring full tid. For søkere som har en fullført mastergrad fra før, kreves det tre års arbeidserfaring. (2 års relevant yrkeserfaring gjelder for Forsvarets personell)
