Introduction
The Consultancy Project is an integral part of the Executive Master of Management in Energy degree (EMME). The subject for the consultancy project is provided by a company and must be approved by the program responisble. The project is supervised by a company representative who ensures that the project is being led according to the company's objectives and guidelines, as well as by a BI professor (faculty advisor) whose role is to validate the academic aspects.

Learning outcome
The aim with the consultancy project is application of the knowledge and skills the students have acquired during the EMME program. This will be done through a project where the students are to provide concrete advices on how to solve a real-life substantial managerial problem/challenge relevant for an organization in the energy sector.

Acquired knowledge and skills:
The consultancy project trains the students in how to produce an evidence-based analysis of a substantial managerial problem/challenge. Their concrete advices on how to solve the managerial problem/challenge are presented both as a written report and as a presentation in front of an audience.

Further, the work on the consultancy project is conducted as a team project (usually 3 - 5 people). This also gives the students practical training in solving business problems together with other people.

Reflection:
Participants should reflect in the project report on how to organize a professional consultancy project and how to present such a project to the client

    Learning process and workload
The work with the consultancy project starts already in module 1 of the EMME program where the students get general information about what is expected from a consultancy project. The students also start to form groups at this time. The consultancy project groups are self-organized by the students. The concrete work on the consultancy project takes place between module 3 and 5.

The consultancy project should be handed in via It's learning and will then be distributed to the faculty advisor (internal examiner) and an external examiner. Further, the project should also be delivered to the company in the form of a final consultancy report and a presentation.

    Examination
Each consultancy project group will be evaluated by assessing the quality of the consultancy project report and an oral presentation in front of a jury composing of the company representative (voluntary), the advisor and one of external examiner, usually one of another faculty member involved in the EMME program.

The Consultancy project is graded as a whole, but the written report counts 70% of the total grade and the oral presentation with visuals counts 30 % of the total grade.
