Introduction

The course will give the students a theoretical overview of the field of entrepreneurship and the role of the entrepreneur in the society. The course will go more in-depth on developing business ideas, with focus on Design Thinking.

Throughout the course, the students will develop their own entrepreneurial mindset through experimental learning and reflection.

Learning outcomes - Knowledge

The course provides an overview of the field of entrepreneurship in theory and practice.

The students will achieve a better understanding of the key themes and concepts in the field of entrepreneurship, with special focus on the entrepreneur. The students are to learn about the entrepreneurial processes, the entrepreneurial content and the entrepreneurial context.

Learning outcomes - Skills

The students are supposed to gain basic experience with methodology for developing business ideas, and learn to analyze the preconditions for a sustainable business. Furthermore, the students should learn to create, identify, asses, shape, and act on opportunities.

General Competence

During the course, the students should develop their own entrepreneurial mindset. Furthermore, the students should develop capacities to self-evaluate, self-regulate and manage their own learning.

Teaching and learning activities

The course will use a combination of lectures, group discussions and other student activities. The teacher will facilitate for a high level of interactivity, through group work and reflection. Through exchanges between lectures, discussions, and practical experiences, the students will get a vivid picture of the subject's particularities and challenges. In addition, there will be compulsory student activities in and between the lectures, such as individual logs.
