BØK 2842 Shipping Management 2 - RE-SIT EXAMINATION Responsible for the course Cathrine Bjune Department Department of Accounting - Auditing and Law Term According to study plan ECTS Credits 6 Language of instruction English Introduction This course (in combination with BØK 2841) offers a thorough introduction to the development, practice and economics of international shipping. It aims at students who wish to specialise in the management of shipping companies, work in shipbroking or with consultants, finance and insurance organizations that include shipping in their portfolios. The courses also facilitate entry into management positions in those sectors of international commerce, industry and civil service that are prime users of maritime services. The courses are designed as electives to be chosen in combination with specializations such as finance, logistics, project management, enterprise development and so on. Objective The course will provide an understanding of commercial practices and the legislative and contractual framework of international shipping. Students will be able to:
